So Cold!!!

I can definitely relate to So Midwestern as we are in the same state and county, and can attest that she is not making up the fact that it's colder than it's been all winter long and definitely for as long as I can remember, because it's been four years since I've even felt winter! The problem with this cold spell is that when it gets this cold our garage door refuses to raise higher than 2 feet. This normally isn't a problem for me because I don't really need to use it, except for today when I need to take the garbage out because my lovely husband didn't do it, which leads to my dumb moment I had this morning. So I tried to get the garage door to go up like 4 times and it just wouldn't budge. I was contemplating bringing the trash through the house but I just couldn't bring myself to do that just yet. I e-mailed my husband asking for suggestions, partly because I really want to get the trash put out and also because I want to remind him that he didn't do it this morning. This was his response: "Pull the orange emergency cord and push the garage door up on its own." DUH, oh yeah, forgot about that!!!!!!! So needless to say I definitely wasn't in critical thinking mode this morning and now I feel pretty silly!

Little man woke up really early this morning and I woke up at 5am when R got up and couldn't get back to sleep. We are both sleep deprived and hearing "mom" 100 times already this morning is really wearing on me. I think I'm definitely going to need a nap this afternoon. It's been so cold that we haven't gotten to play outside very much, but today we are going out just to kill some time and get some fresh air. I'm hoping the neighbor calls too and asks us for a playdate sometime soon! Hope everyone is warmer than us here in Michigan, if you are, enjoy it and send it our way!!!! :o)

Update: I found a place where it's worse than here. My mantra, "things could always be worse"
