2009=Expensive

So we've started off the new year unexpectedly forking out tons of money that we don't have. On Friday I went to grab some ice cubes and noticed that they looked very translucent. Upon gazing around our freezer I noticed my frozen bread dough was starting to rise and was no longer rock hard. Sure enough our refrigerator tanked. It was a long time coming but I think we took for granted that despite the unusual noises it produced that it would just keep on working. So needless to say thank God for Hom.e Depo.ts 12 months of no payments or interest. We ended up getting a fridge to match our microwave in stainless steel because we didn't want to start down the road of mismatched appliances, especially if we are going to end up having to move. All the appliances are the original ones from when the house was built, though it's only 11 years old the appliances were cheap to begin with, so we're going to have to upgrade them all before we move in order to entice buyers to even "glance" at our house.

The contents of our refrigerator is in our garage right now so I feel like total white trash going to the garage every time we need something and pulling it off our wooden garage shelving. We took most of our freezer stuff to the neighbor's house. She has a freezer in her garage that was pretty much empty and then rest of our stuff is in a cooler on our back step, another very white trashy looking and feeling thing. We won't get our new fridge until Wednesday :( but at least it's winter time!

The next expense was my prescriptions that I got filled today without insurance. I made the mistake of thinking that my prenatals were a supply of 90 days and since they were generic it wouldn't be that much to just refill them. Well needless to say it was over $17 for a one month supply. I could just kick myself because I could have went to Sam.s Clu.b and gotten a several months supply for cheaper than that, so frustrating! I also paid out of pocket for my birth control pills which were over $36. So when all was said and done it was over $50 for 2 one month supplies of pills.

We also had to buy and install a new garage door opener. The one we had totally broke and we had no way to lock our garage. It was installed so shotty and it was also a piece of crap. There have been so many break ins in our subdivision that we didn't want to risk getting the contents of our garage stolen because we had no way to lock our garage.

That really stinks about your fridge - but awesome about the no payments thing! I guess thats the one good thing about the economy right now, all the deals that everyone is offering.

Also, I don't know if you knew, but Meijer will fill your prenatal vitamin prescriptions for free! You just have to call them to check which ones they offer.

And Planned Parenthood might be a good choice for BC pills right now. When I was in school I'd get them for free, so hopefully they still do that.

Wow, it's cold enough there to just keep your stuff outside in the garage...that's crazy.

You know, I haven't take a prenatal vitamin in 2 months I bet..thanks for reminding me!
